Pete Mazzone

Pete Mazzone holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law (‘95) , as well as a Ph.D. in Geology (‘88) from the University of Massachusetts. Following law school, he became a staff attorney at the Snohomish County Public Defenders Association where he practiced for five years before co-founding the law firm of Phillips and Mazzone, Lawyers in 2001. He is an active member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He currently handles all types of criminal matters, including misdemeanors and felonies, in State and Federal Court.

Guss Markwell

Charles "Guss" Markwell, B.S. Psychology, Indiana State University 1994; M.S. Criminology, Indiana State University, J.D. Campbell University 1999; National College of Criminal Defense 2002. Guss' legal career began with the firm of Murphy and Johnson in Benson N.C. He began private practice in Washington in 1999 providing contract Prosecuting and Public Defense services throughout Snohomish County, in addition to maintaining a caseload in criminal Law and general civil litigation. Originally from St. Louis, Mo., Guss was a stand up comic and juggler prior to starting his legal career. He also worked as a counselor for troubled juveniles. Currently, Guss handles both criminal and personal injury matters.

Michael H. Torgesen

Michael H. Torgesen, B.A. History, University of Washington 1999; J.D. Willamette University College of Law 2003. Prior to joining Mazzone and markwell, Lawyers, Mike worked in civil practice representing both defendants and plaintiffs. Mike is a Washington native and if Mike is not in court, he can usually be found enjoying the abundant outdoor activities available in the Pacific Northwest.
